Hollows House: A Fantastic Start to 2026
Halfway through Term 1, it has been a fantastic start to the year for Hollows House, with great House spirit and pride already on full display.
We have seen an incredible number of values nominations come through, which is a true reflection of the positive efforts happening in classrooms every day. It has been particularly pleasing to read about the respect and courtesy shown to others, especially staff members, with students helping to clean up classrooms after lessons, opening doors for peers and staff, and consistently demonstrating politeness and care. These are the qualities we value deeply in Hollows, and we encourage everyone to keep up this outstanding work.
We were also thrilled to see so many Hollows students receive leadership positions this year. From Sudammi, our College Captain, to Acacia, our House Captain, we have a strong and inspiring group of students representing our College in a variety of leadership and committee roles. Congratulations as well to all students who were recognised at our recent whole school assembly- your awards were very well deserved, and you continue to make us proud.
Our Year 7 students have settled in exceptionally well. Transitioning into life at Hampton Park Secondary College can feel overwhelming at first, navigating the school grounds, organising lockers, and learning new timetables; but they have approached it with maturity and enthusiasm. A reminder to all students that the Hollows team is always here to support you. Just as importantly, so are your peers. There are so many wonderful students in Hollows House who are more than willing to lend a hand. Sometimes, all you need to do is ask.
Our House pride and culture truly shone last week at our annual College Swimming Sports. As the Water House, this is the event we thrive in, having won the event for the past two consecutive years. The pressure was on to achieve a third straight victory, and our students rose to the challenge magnificently.
Seeing the shades of blue across the pool was impressive enough, but watching our students compete with determination, teamwork and energy made it even more special. With such strong participation across all events, it was truly our day. Hollows House proudly claimed the 2026 College Swimming Sports title, securing the threepeat in dominant fashion! Stay tuned for the unveiling of our new banner, which will soon be displayed proudly in the Hollows foyer.
With Ramadan currently taking place, we extend our warm wishes to all members of our community observing this important time. “Ramadan Mubarak” (Blessed Ramadan) and “Ramadan Kareem” (Generous Ramadan) are greetings used to wish friends, family and colleagues a peaceful, blessed and prosperous holy month.
Looking ahead, our attention now turns to NAPLAN for our Year 7 and Year 9 students. NAPLAN provides a valuable snapshot of progress in literacy and numeracy. As a House and as a College, we encourage our students to approach these assessments with confidence and pride, showing just how far you have come in your learning journey.
Thank you to all students, families and staff for contributing to such a strong and positive start to the year. Hollows House spirit is alive and well and we are only just getting started.
