House News

End of Term 2

As we reach the end of another busy and successful term, it is a great opportunity to reflect on the many events, achievements and experiences that have brought our Hollows House community together.

World Cup Fever Hits HPSC

World Cup fever has certainly arrived at Hampton Park Secondary College, and Hollows House has embraced it wholeheartedly! Who are you supporting? Australia? Another country? Perhaps your family’s home nation?

The screens around the school have been showing matches throughout the tournament, and it has been fantastic to see students and staff coming together to share their passion for the world game. The excitement, colours, cultures and friendly rivalries have created a wonderful atmosphere around the College. Events like the World Cup remind us how sport has the power to unite people from all backgrounds.

May the best team win!

Celebrating Culture and Diversity

Hollows House has always taken great pride in celebrating the diverse cultures that make up our school community, and the past month has been a real highlight.

Students were actively involved in our Multicultural Assembly and Harmony Day celebrations, as well as activities recognising National Reconciliation Week. These events provided an opportunity for us all to learn from one another, celebrate our differences and recognise the many cultures and stories that contribute to our community.

This is truly what makes Hampton Park Secondary College such a wonderful place to learn and work. We embrace and celebrate the rich diversity of our students, families and staff, creating a community where everyone belongs.

Looking Ahead to Term 3

There is plenty to look forward to when we return next term.

Our annual 4C’s Spectacular will be held early in Term 3 and promises to be another fantastic showcase of student talent, leadership and community spirit.

We are also excited for the College production, Replay, Rewind, taking place at the end of July. Many Hollows students are involved in the production, and we encourage everyone to come along and support the incredible work of our performers, musicians, backstage crew and staff. We know it will be a fantastic show.

Talent Show Success

Congratulations to all students and staff who participated in this year’s Talent Show. It was wonderful to see so many members of our community sharing their talents and passions with others.

A special congratulations must go to our Student Leadership Team for their organisation and leadership of the event. The Talent Show continues to be a highlight on the school calendar and a great opportunity for students to showcase their abilities.

Year 9 City Experience

Recently, our Year 9 students participated in the City Experience. We hope you enjoyed your adventure through Melbourne and the opportunity to explore some of the city’s iconic locations, including Hosier Lane, ACMI, the National Gallery of Victoria and Queen Victoria Market.

Experiences like these help bring learning to life while allowing students to explore the cultural and historical significance of our city.

Road to Success Careers Expo

Another recent highlight was our Road to Success Careers Expo. We hope this event encouraged students to think more deeply about their future pathways and career aspirations.

Students had the opportunity to speak with industry professionals, explore VET options and learn about the many pathways available after school. Whether your goal is university, TAFE, an apprenticeship, traineeship or direct employment, events such as this provide valuable information and connections that can help shape future decisions.

GAT and Mid-Year Examinations

Congratulations to all Year 12 students and those Year 11 students who recently completed the GAT. Your preparation and commitment throughout the process were commendable.

Students have also now completed their mid-year examinations and Semester 1 reports have been finalised. Reports provide valuable feedback on your progress and should be used as an important tool for improvement. Take the time to reflect on your strengths, celebrate your achievements and identify areas where you can continue to grow.

If you require support in any subject area, please remember that help is available. Speak with your teachers, your House team or your parents and carers. We all want to see you succeed and are here to support you every step of the way.

House Values Award Winners

Congratulations to all students who were recognised at our recent House Values Assembly. Your efforts, positive attitude and commitment to our House values have not gone unnoticed.

Keep striving for excellence, supporting those around you and, most importantly, attending school every day. Consistent attendance remains one of the most important factors in achieving success.

Have a Safe and Relaxing Break

As Term 2 comes to a close, I would like to thank all students, families and staff for their continued support of Hollows House.

We wish everyone a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday break. Take the opportunity to relax, recharge and spend time with family and friends.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term in Term 3.

Go Hollows!
