REPLAY REWIND

Our original production, REPLAY REWIND, has officially wrapped after three incredible performances, one special matinee for local primary school students and two evening performances for our wider school community.

The night began with our 40th Anniversary Expo, giving audiences the chance to take a trip down memory lane. With memorabilia, photos and stories from across the College’s history, there was plenty to discover and for many, plenty of memories to revisit!

Then it was time to head into the theatre…

REPLAY REWIND was a completely original story inspired by out 40th year. Set around six students at Cherry Woodwind College who found themself in trouble and needing to clean out the school base. When they stumble upon a box of old cassette, revealing stories from 1986. The story explored friendships, secrets and what happens when the past starts to resurface.

And what an achievement it was.

Creating an original play from scratch is no small feat. There was no premade script to simply pick up and perform, our students helped bring an entirely new story to life, taking on the challenges of acting, character development, rehearsals, set, props, costumes, sound, lighting and everything in between.

From the first idea to the final curtain, these students poured an incredible amount of time, creativity and energy into making REPLAY REWIND happen. There were laughs, long rehearsals, last-minute script changes, plenty of problem-solving and, of course, a few moments of “we’ll work that out tomorrow!”

Most importantly, they did it together.

A huge congratulations to every student who helped make this production possible. You should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved. Creating and performing an original piece of theatre is something pretty special and REPLAY REWIND will always be a part of our 40th Anniversary story.
